The Provincial Health Office (PHO) with the Provincial Government of Abra (PGA) conducts a one-day rabies health summit at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall. The summit was attended by representatives from OPAg, OPVet, and PNP, APH doctors, rural health unit doctors and nurses, and barangay captains from the 27 municipalities of Abra on July 17, 2018.
The summit aims to expand the groundwork for linkages and collaboration among interdisciplinary professions and fields in dealing with rabies, its control and prevention, and to equip local government executives for the implementation of rabies control.
“The main goal of this summit is to eliminate rabies in the province. Let us work hand in hand for a rabies-free Abra”, Dr. Maria Cristina V. Cabrera PHO II said.
As of 2018, there are no reported human rabies cases in the province compared to last year where there were 4.
