Infrastructure projects, livelihood assistance and trainings, and farm inputs were among the proposed projects of the 15 insurgency affected barangays inf Lacub, Malibcong, and Tubo during the Planning Workshop of the Provincial Task Force on Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) headed by Gov. Joy Bernos.
This is in accordance with Executive Order No. 70 which institutionalizes the “whole-of-nation approach” or the convergence of LGUs and government agencies to fight insurgency and maintain peace.
The barangay captains of the 15 affected barangays of Lacub, Malibcong, and Tubo presented their proposed projects during the planning workshop of the Provincial Task Force ELCAC on December 9-11, 2019 at the Capitol Social Hall.
The construction of roads, water system, irrigations, footbridges, and drying pavements were among the proposed projects. Road projects in far-flung areas of Talipugo and Sap-al of Lacub were also drafted and prioritized in the proposal.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government-Abra and the representatives from the Philippine National Police, Philippine Army, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Public Works and Highways, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Trade and Industry, and National Commission on Indigenous Peoples gave their commitment to help PGA in providing government services to the affected barangays.
