“Abra is a beautiful place,” Nestor Laguitao Jr. and Mary Joy Bewat from Benguet State University (BSU) said after staying in the province for several days. The two students joined in the recently concluded Cordillera Administrative Region State Universities and Colleges meet (CARASUC).

Mary Joy said every Abreño that they encountered showed kindness and respect. Laguitao, on the other hand, said that Abreños are happy people. The two students also said that staff and students of Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology (ASIST) warmly welcomed all the participants of CARASUC.

Although they don’t have enough time to roam around, they still have plans to come back for a visit.

Coach Richard D. Baliao from Ifugao State University (IFSU) said that the event was well organized. “Although they can’t avoid some flaws, the event is still perfect,” he added. According to Baliao, participants were well treated and the host school tried their best to cater to everything they needed.

Meanwhile, BSU are the overall champs in this year’s CARASUC with Mountain Province State Polytechnic College for 1st runner up, Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSP), 2nd runner up- ASIST, 3rd runner up- IFSU, 4TH runner- IFSU and 5th runner up was Apayao State College (ASC).

During the closing ceremony on November 28, Executive Dean Leo Pasos said the school did their best to make CARASUC a successful activity. He thanked the participants for the five days of fun together. “It was spectacular,” he added.During the CARASUC 2019’s closing event, ASIST passed the torch to ASC as the host next year.
