Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-Abra in partnership with the local government unit (LGU) of Danglas provided the Computer Literacy Training Course to 30 barangay officials and municipal employees at the Danglas Municipal Building on April 22-26, 2019.

The computer literacy course is under the Community-Based Training program of TESDA.

TESDA-Abra Community-Based Training coordinator Maricon Taclaoan said the participants were taught basic computer programs like Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint that are useful for them as public servants.

TESDA also provided training programs like beauty care, body massage, dressmaking and tailoring, simple bookkeeping, and food processing to LGU personnel in Tineg, Malibcong, Bangued, Licuan-Baay, Langiden, Dolores, Manabo, Bucay, Luba, Boliney, San Juan, Lagangilang, and Bangued.

Taclaoan said the CBT program provides basic capability building courses to enhance the citizens’ productivity. Furthermore, it encourages livelihood endeavors and self-employment.

This program utilizes the convergence approach in its implementation not only with the LGUs but also with non-government groups, civic, religious, and people’s organizations.
