The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) continues to encourage more Local Government Units (LGUs) to move toward good governance in providing better performance and service delivery in their localities through the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) implementation.
The SGLG implementation kicked off with the orientation by the Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs), DILG technical staff, and LGUs on April 2-3, 2019, at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall.
DILG-Abra Provincial Director Millicent B. Cariño said the participants were given details of the seven assessment criteria that LGUs must pass like Financial Administration, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection, Peace and Order, Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, Environmental Management, and Tourism of Culture and Arts.
She said the data gathering or submission of documents is until April 26, 2019. On April 29-May 17, the regional assessment team will conduct onsite visits to the municipalities for interview and document review.
