To develop and strengthen tourism in Abra, a draft ordinance entitled “Provincial Tourism Code of Abra” was approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) members headed by Vice Governor Ronald Balao-as during the 64th regular session this morning, January 8, 2019, at the SP Session Hall.

The said ordinance provides policies and procedures governing the tourism industry of the province. This includes the creation of tourism councils and offices to effectively implement tourism programs down to the municipal levels.

The tourism code is necessary to secure Constitutional provisions and laws to protect the rights, health, and environment of the people especially the indigenous communities while developing tourism in our province.

One of the Provincial Government’s key priorities is community development through promotion of tourist spots, products, and culture.
