Education Program Supervisor for Science Bhenjo P. Agaloos disclosed to the public the financial assistance given by the provincial government in the upcoming 2018 Regional Science and Math Festival with the theme “Science and Technology, and Mathematics for the people: innovation for collective prosperity” at the Mt. Province General Comprehensive High School, Bontoc, Mt. Province.

According to Agaloos, Gov. Joy Bernos grants financial assistance to the 166 contingents that will represent the province. In addition, the Governor will provide four buses for transportation from Abra to Bontoc, Mt. Province, and vice versa.

The festival is an annual academic competition that promotes Mathematics and Science and Technology consciousness among youth. This will identify the most innovative and the best Science and Technology researchers who will represent the region to the National Science and Technology Fair.

The participants that will represent the province for the 2018 Regional Science and Math Festival were winners from the recently concluded competition—2018 Division Science and Math Festival last October 4-5, 2018 at Sinapangan Elementary School Bangued.

Base on the division level result, the overall champion for elementary level is Tayum District and Abra High School for the secondary level. Under the Science category, the champion for elementary level is Tayum District and Abra High School for secondary level. For the Mathematics category, Bangued District emerged as the champion for the elementary level and Abra High School for secondary level.
