On behalf of Provincial Officer Genesis Quiblado of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples- Abra, Administrative Officer IV (NCIP-Abra) Juliet Quinto presented updates on the existing programs and recently concluded activities of the department.
In her report, the Educational Assistance Program had 78 existing grantees and 100 new grantees of the department’s program.
Quinto also presented the number of Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IPMR) in the province — 20 Municipal IPMRs, 78 Barangay IPMRs, and 1 Provincial IPMR.
“Maragsakan kami a mangipadamag nga idi October ket adda naangay nga IPMRs Summit nga indauloan ni Provincial IPMR Romero Daoaten (We are happy to announce that in October, an IPMR Summit was conducted headed Provincial IPMR Romero Daoaten),” said Quinto.
Also, Quinto said that there is an Ancestral Domain Protection Plan being implemented in Daguioman.
She also informed the public regarding the issuance of the certificate of confirmation to those in need of height waiver and certificate of tribal marriage to visit the NCIP office located in Calaba, Bangued.
