Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office-Abra (PENRO-Abra) in partnership with the 24th Infantry Wildcat Battalion, and Abra Police Provincial Office conducted a tree-planting activity at Casamata Hill National Park, Bangued in observance of Arbor Day.

Marites Salcedo, OIC, Chief Management Services Division said that one of the basic objectives of this activity is to enhance our forests and celebrate Arbor Day.

According to OIC Technical Division Officer Forester Abreolo Joey Languisan, over 270 seedlings of fruit bearing trees and gmelina were planted at the province’s national park.

Arbor is a Latin word meaning “tree”. Arbor Day has been institutionalized in the country to be observed every 25th of June.
