The sericulture initiative of the Office of the Vice Governor, led by Vice Governor Anne A. Bersamin, continues to take root in San Juan, Abra, under the leadership of Mayor Ari Lucas Bautista, in partnership with the DMMMSU Sericulture Research and Development Institute.
Following a July benchmarking activity and a 21-day hands-on training in August, the community has moved from learning to actual production; recording its first cocoon harvest of 10 kilograms, followed by a second harvest this month as the community sustains and expands its sericulture activities.
From knowledge-sharing to livelihood creation, the initiative continues to open new pathways for sustainable community development.
