The 12th Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Abra, during its First Special Session on August 13, 2026, considered proposed resolutions authorizing agreements with barangays and farmers’ associations seeking assistance from the Province’s RA 7171 share.

The proposed investments span farm machinery, agricultural inputs, livelihood projects, irrigation, farm-to-market roads, and other community facilities; support designed to lower production costs, improve market access, strengthen livelihoods, and build resilient communities.

For tobacco-growing areas, alternative livelihood projects can open new opportunities beyond a single crop. Better roads and irrigation can likewise bring farms, markets, and families closer to greater opportunities.

When public funds are directed toward productive and sustainable projects, assistance becomes more than support; it becomes a seed for productivity, endurance, and lasting progress in Abra.
