The Provincial Government of Abra, through the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) in partnership with the Provincial Environment and Management Unit (PEMU), convened the Third Quarter Provincial Solid Waste Management Board Meeting on July 23, 2026, at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall.
Representatives from provincial and municipal offices discussed key environmental priorities, including the updating of the Ten-Year Solid Waste Management Plan, the implementation schedule of the Waste Analysis and Characterization Study (WACS), and the water quality status of the Abra, Tineg, and Ikmin Rivers.
The meeting reinforced the Provincial Governmentβs commitment to sustainable waste management, environmental protection, and stronger collaboration among local government units in safeguarding Abraβs natural resources.
