


Residents of Licuan-Baay gained valuable knowledge in responsible honey harvesting and coffee appreciation through PROJECT HIVE: Harnessing Innovation for Village Empowerment held on May 20, 2026. The initiative aimed to strengthen sustainable livelihood opportunities while promoting locally produced products in the community.
The activity was spearheaded by the Provincial Government of Abra through Vice Governor Anne A. Bersamin in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology, SWAD-Abra, and the local government of Licuan-Baay led by Mayor Darwin Domingo.
Also supporting the initiative were Engr. Ralf Sapiil of DOST and SWAD Team Leader Claudine Campos-Cosi, whose participation reinforced efforts to improve local honey production practices and deepen appreciation for locally grown coffee products as sources of sustainable growth for the community.
