Amid the gentle yet persistent rains of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), the Provincial Government of Abra, under the compassionate leadership of Governor Eustaquio P. Bersamin and through the heartfelt initiative of Vice Governor Anne A. Bersamin, extended timely relief assistance on August 10, 2026, to 425 families affected by the inclement weather.

Through the dedicated efforts of the PSWDO and PDRRMO, rice and food packs were carefully delivered to 113 families in the remote Sitio Malango, Barangay San Isidro, Lagangilang, and 312 families in Barangay Budac, Tayum, ensuring that even the farthest communities are reached with care and support.

The relief operation was spearheaded by OIC PSWDO Head Icee Molina and PDRRMO Head Elmer Bersamin, in close coordination with the Municipal Governments of Lagangilang and Tayum, and made possible through the unwavering support of MSWDOs, MDRRMOs, barangay officials, Sangguniang Bayan members, LGU personnel, the PNP, BFP units, and the 50th Infantry Battalion.

In every drop of rain and every moment of uncertainty, Abra stands united; delivering help with compassion and carrying hope to every community.
