Abra farmers and agricultural workers are gaining practical skills in sustainable vegetable production through a three-day training on vegetable seedling grafting, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) held September 22β24, 2026, at the Mt. Carmel Agri-Tourism and Training Center in Monggoc, Pidigan.
Led by the DA-CAR High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) in partnership with ATI-CAR and the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg), the training included hands-on preparation of natural farm inputs such as Fermented Plant Juice (FPJ), Fermented Fruit Juice (FFJ), and Oriental Herbal Nutrient (OHN) using locally available plant materials.
The activity supports the Gulayan sa Bayan (GSB) Project, which promotes community gardens and nurseries, strengthens food security, and equips communities with practical and sustainable approaches to food production.
