The Provincial Government of Abra, through the Office of Vice Governor Anne A. Bersamin, continues to support sustainable livelihoods by strengthening local aquaculture initiatives.

In partnership with the Local Government of Villaviciosa under Mayor Marjorie L. Lagen, 25,000 freshwater shrimp juveniles from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) – National Fisheries Development Center were distributed to fisherfolk beneficiaries on July 23, 2026. The initiative aims to boost aquaculture production, improve livelihoods, and promote food security and local economic growth.
