The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) conducted a public hearing on July 7, 2026, at the Gabaldon Building of the Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology (ASIST)–Bangued Campus to present its proposed regulation on visitor entry and the imposition of entrance fees at Casamata Hill National Park (CHNP). The Provincial Government of Abra, represented by Assistant Provincial Administrator Atty. Israel Bonite, participated in the consultation.

The public hearing brought together representatives from the Provincial Government of Abra, the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB), the Metro Bangued Water District (MBWD), various stakeholders, and members of the public. During the consultation, DENR presented the proposed guidelines governing park entry and the corresponding entrance fees. An open forum followed, allowing participants to share their comments, raise concerns, and provide recommendations on the proposed measures before their implementation.
