The Provincial Government of Abra will officially break ground for the Casamata Hill Development Project on May 21, 2026, in Bangued; marking a major step in transforming one of Abra’s most iconic landmarks into a center for tourism, culture, and public service.

The project will feature a multi-use facility housing the Tourism Office Extension, Protected Area Management Unit (PAMU) Office, Function Hall, Coffee Shop, and Hostel to improve visitor experience and site operations. It also includes the rehabilitation of the Casamata Amphitheater for cultural activities and the revitalization of the Casamata Radio Station to strengthen communication and community support.

Designed to preserve the natural beauty and cultural significance of Casamata Hill while promoting sustainable development, the project reflects Abra’s continuing vision for progress, opportunity, and tourism growth for future generations.
