The Provincial Government of Abra, through the Provincial Health Office (PHO) led by Provincial Health Officer Frances Marie Alexis B. Gasa, M.D., extended immediate assistance to families affected by the recent landslide in Mudeng, La Paz, Abra, on August 11, 2026.
Water containers, Aquatabs, ready-to-eat compressed biscuits, and family kits were distributed to affected families at Mudeng Elementary School as part of the Provincial Governmentβs continuing humanitarian response amid the prevailing adverse weather conditions.
The Municipal Health Office of the Local Government Unit of La Paz, led by Mayor NiΓ±a Bernos, was also present to provide medical assistance and attend to the health needs of the affected residents. Mudeng Barangay officials likewise assisted in the distribution of relief items and coordinated support for the families.
The response is being carried out in line with the directives of Governor Eustaquio P. Bersamin and Vice Governor Anne A. Bersamin, ensuring that essential assistance reaches affected communities promptly while strengthening coordination among the provincial, municipal, and barangay governments.
