The 12th Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Abra convened for its 31st Regular Session on June 22, 2026, in San Juan, Abra, tackling key measures aimed at strengthening governance, promoting transparency, and enhancing community welfare. The board reaffirmed its support for the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) Nueva Era Campus, underscoring its commitment to expanding educational opportunities for Abreรฑos.

The Provincial Board also approved supplemental investment programs for the municipalities of Lacub and Luba, paving the way for the implementation of priority projects that will further boost local development and improve public services.

As part of the provinceโ€™s disaster preparedness efforts, the body endorsed the Municipality of Lagayanโ€™s Contingency Plan for Flooding. Committee reports focusing on anti-violence campaigns, climate-resilient agriculture, and disaster risk reduction initiatives were likewise presented to strengthen community resilience and sustainable development.

Legislative inquiries involving provincial officials also continued during the session to ensure transparency and accountability in procurement and fund disbursement.
