Gov. Joy Bernos mandated the mayors and barangay captains to submit a daily report starting tomorrow on the travelers entering their areas to identify persons of interest on COVID-19, during the meeting of the league of mayors and barangay captains on COVID-19 at Social Hall, Capitol on March 15, 2020.

They are required to heighten the contact tracing on the exposed individuals from the confirmed case of COVID-19. There are already 190 exposed individuals from Sallapadan, Bucloc, Licuan-Baay, and Manabo as reported during the meeting.

On March 14, an OFW who works as a seaman tested positive with mild symptoms for COVID-19 by Research Institute for Tropical Medicine. The patient arrived in Catacdegan Nuevo in Manabo on March 8. He visited the mentioned towns until March 13.  

The exposed people are advised to conduct self-quarantine along with their households in 14 days and will be monitored by the barangay health emergency response team every day.

These municipalities including Bangued are also mandated to conduct disinfection in their whole community starting on March 16. All barangay captains shall have a Barangay Isolation Unit to contain the possible infected persons.

In response, League of the Municipalities of the Philippines Abra Chapter President Denise Florence Bernos assured the governor for their compliance.
