The Social Welfare and Development (SWAD)-Abra in partnership with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority-Abra provided a training course on Reed Crafts Making in Liguis, La Paz, on May 7-10, 2019, to help the Liguis Runo Weavers SLP Association produce quality products.

With 30 members, the Liguis Runo Weavers SLP Association have availed of the Skills Training and Seed Capital Fund of DSWD’s Special Livelihood Project.

Using reed, they are able to produce wine carriers, placemats, trays, and star vases that they can sell at P150 per piece.

Before the project, weavers sold their products at P75 per piece due to lack of materials.

SWAD-Abra will continue to assist the association and register them in other agencies like the Department of Labor and Employment, and Department of Trade and Industry that will help them develop as entrepreneurs.
