The Social Welfare And Development (SWAD)-Abra is implementing the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) to develop entrepreneurial and labor skills of the disadvantaged sectors in the province.

SWAD-Abra SLP Provincial Coordinator Kaisy Joy A. Dalit said a total of 2,529 households were formed as Civil Society Organizations and were assisted by SWAD-Abra to engage in small business and livelihood in 2017 and 2018.

Some of the livelihoods were catering services, soft broom production, mini-groceries, cattle raising, pure honey production, and others in Langiden, Bucay, Boliney, Manabo, Licuan-Baay, Tineg, Pilar, Bucloc, and other municipalities.

She said SLP is a community-based capacity building program to develop micro-enterprise and employment facilitation for Pantawid Pamilya and Listahanan beneficiaries. The beneficiaries could be grouped under Seed Capital Fund, Skills Training, Cash for Building Livelihood Asset, and Employment Assistance Fund.

Pantawid Pamilya and Listahanan beneficiaries should form an association  to avail up to P15,000 livelihood assistance from SLP.
