Headed by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), the community members, elders, officials, and youth leaders of Licuan-Baay convened for the first Municipal Environmental Summit on April 23, 2019.

Speakers from CENRO-Lagangilang, ENRO, EMB-CAR/PEMU, and MGB-CAR shared additional knowledge on the rules, regulations, and policies regarding environmental protection to the residents of Licuan-Baay.

The summit will help the LGU in coming up for the protection, regulation, and preservation of natural resources.

Existing activities being conducted by the Environment and Natural Resources Office were presented such as regulation of transport of minor forest products, regulation of mining activities, and regulation of extraction of sand and gravel.

According to Environment and Natural Resources Officer (ENRO) Cris Albolote, Licuan-Baay is expected to be the first LGU to implement a sanitary landfill.

The summit also granted an open forum to answer questions from the residents.
