Gabriela Women’s Association of Pamutik, Pidigan sold P52,104 worth of chichacorn products during the Abra Padaya trade fair on March 1-9, 2019.

The association’s livelihood project contributed to the development of their communities since their products are coming from the cornfields of their municipality. The corn grains are processed at their processing center at Pamutik, Pidigan.

Gabriela Women’s Association is a national awardee of Best DOLE-Assisted Livelihood Project in 2017 for their remarkable livelihood growth and its impact in the community.

Gabriela Women’s Association President Tesie A. Billedo said the livelihood project started in September 2011 with the help of the government agencies.

Department of Labor and Employment-Abra, Department of Trade and Industry-Abra, Department of Sciences and Technology, and Department of Agriculture provided technical assistance such as skills and capability training programs on corn processing, product development, packaging, and product promotions.


The name Gabriela was chosen by the members adopting the name of Gabriela Silang, a fearless warrior, leader, and an Ilokana.
