Fr. Elmar Cabunot, biblical director of the Diocese of Bangued emphasized that the youth are loved, gifted, empowered, and they are called to share the good news of God’s love during the celebration of the 38th Hearts on Fire Abra Gospel Festival last February 9, 2019, at the Divine Word College of Bangued gymnasium.

For the first time, Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology (ASIST) participated on this gospel festival.

Every year, the Diocesan Biblical Apostolate celebrates “Hearts on Fire” with gospel-song competition, biblical dance drama, biblical rap, bible quiz bee, and poster making to engage the youth in the mission of sharing the Word of God.

The Holy Spirit Academy of Bangued (HSAB) were the overall champions besting 12 other schools.

The following are the winners in each competition:

Dance drama – ASIST

Poster making – Little Flower High School

Biblical rap – HSAB

Gospel song – St. Joseph Seminary

Bible quiz bee (high school) – St. Joseph Seminary

Bible quiz bee (elementary) – HSAB
