Due to continuous price increase in gasoline and some basic commodities, a random price monitoring and inspection was carried out in grocery stores, hardware stores, Bangued Central Market, LPG dealers, and gas stations by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Abra in coordination with the Provincial Government of Abra through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Office of the Provincial Veterinarian, LGU Bangued, Bangued MPS, and media on June 5-6, 2018.

The monitoring team interviewed owners, retailers, wholesalers, and distributors of grocery stores if their merchandises are meeting Suggested Retail Prices provided by DTI.

On LPG, proper labeling and quality of tanks or cylinders were checked.

DTI officials inspected Caltex Fairway to demonstrate the correct calibration of its gas pumps through bucket testing.

Lastly, weighing scales at the wet market of Bangued Public Market were scrutinized by the monitoring team headed by the LGU Bangued Municipal Treasurer’s Office.
